All justice today carries within it this hidden poison: that righteousness is personal, and to make another wrong is the final battle. But the moment you demand an “offender” confess their wrongness, you risk not their reform, but their annihilation. The result is not correction, but collapse—of dignity, of identity, of the very self.
The trap is simple: teach a man that survival depends not on truth, but on being “right” at all costs. Make him commit a wrong—by accident, by deception, or by sheer desperation. Then, force him to defend it. A mind chained to the necessity of proving itself right—even when it is wrong—will repeat its errors until it no longer knows the difference. This is how degradation becomes a cycle, not an event. This is why punishment fails, for punishment assumes awareness, and awareness is the very thing that has been stripped away.

Many of the behaviors society punishes are rooted in architectures designed long before the individual arrived.
